Build Hours
Build PIC, cross-country, and total time toward commercial or ATP minimums. Every flight should fill multiple requirement categories at once.
How it works
Pure time building in an aircraft you are checked out in does not require paying for a CFI. You only pay for instruction when you ask for it.
Cut the cost in half
FAA regulations allow certificated pilots to share the operating costs of a flight proportionally. Both pilots must share fuel costs equally, the flight must have a legitimate purpose, and no profit can be made.
Two pilots splitting a cross-country each pay about half of what that flight would have cost them flying it alone. Run that across a hundred hours of time building and the saving is the largest single lever you have, which is why it is worth arranging deliberately rather than hoping it happens.
Settle Aviation can connect you with other pilots building time in the DFW area. Both pilots fly, both log the hours, both split the bill. Both need to be current and qualified in the aircraft.
